বিছানাকান্দি · Gowainghat, Rustompur Union, Gowainghat, Sylhet district, Sylhet Division
Introduction
A riverside stone-quarry village on the Piyain River in Gowainghat, near the Bangladesh-India border, where clear hill streams from the Khasi Hills run over layered piles of rock. The stacked-stone scenery is best in the dry season when water levels drop; in monsoon the river rises and travel is by boat, with flash-flood risk from hill catchments. It is one of the most popular day trips from Sylhet city.
Suggested time: Half a day
How to get there
From Sylhet, Wikivoyage describes the route as: CNG taxi or chartered vehicle from Amberkhana Point to Hadarpar Bazar, then by boat to Bichanakandi. In monsoon much of the route is boat-dependent. Confirm current fares and boat arrangements locally before travel.
Important notes
- CNG from Amberkhana Point to Hadarpar Bazar, then boat to Bichanakandi.Community-reportedSource: Sylhet — Wikivoyage
