Introduction

Bangladesh's only freshwater swamp forest, on the banks of the Goain river in Fatehpur union. In the wet (monsoon) season the water rises to the tops of the koroch trees and the forest is explored by boat.

How to get there

About 26 km from Sylhet city. Take a CNG/bus along the Gowainghat road from Sylhet, then enter the swamp forest by local boat.

Important notes

  • June–November (the water season) is the most beautiful; in the dry season boating may not be possible.
