Choto Sona Mosque
ছোট সোনা মসজিদ · Shibganj, Firozpur quarter, Shibganj (Gaur area), Chapainawabganj district, Rajshahi Division
Introduction
Built under Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah (1493–1519), this is among the finest pre-Mughal monuments of Bengal. Its brick-and-stone structure takes its 'golden' name from domes once gilded; visitors see carved stonework, glazed tiles and fifteen original dome positions. It is the anchor sight of a Gaur-area day trip from Chapainawabganj town.
Suggested time: 1–2 hours
How to get there
From Chapainawabganj town, take a bus, CNG or easy-bike toward Shibganj; the mosque is in the Gaur area, about 0.5 km southeast of the Mughal Tahakhana complex. Confirm local fares.
