Introduction

A popular lake and open recreation area in the heart of Madaripur town, 5-8 km from the district headquarters, filling up with locals in the evenings. It is known for its scenic lake views, birdwatching and photography opportunities. It works as an evening stop for travellers arriving over the Padma Bridge.

How to get there

Take a bus from Dhaka over the Padma Bridge to Madaripur Sadar, then a rickshaw or auto to Shakuni Lake; it is easy to reach from the town.
