Char Kukri Mukri Wildlife Sanctuary
চর কুকরিমুকরি বন্যপ্রাণী অভয়ারণ্য · Char Fasson, Southern Char Fasson, Bhola, Bhola district, Barishal Division
Introduction
A 40-hectare sanctuary declared in 1981 on a char island at the mouth of the Meghna in the Bay of Bengal, at the southern tip of Bhola. It mixes mangroves, tidal forest and a long sandy shoreline, with shorebirds and waterbirds peaking during the winter migration. There is no formal accommodation on the island, so most visitors come on a day trip; arrange a boat and local guide in advance.
Suggested time: 1 day (day trip)
How to get there
From Bhola town, continue by local transport through Char Fasson to the southern coast, then cross the channel by small boat. From Barishal the full journey typically takes four to six hours depending on connections. Roads are rural and services infrequent - start early and confirm current boat links.
Important notes
- Small boat across the channel from the southern coast of Bhola; typically four to six hours total from Barishal.Community-reportedSource: Char Kukri Mukri, Bhola — Tourist Places BD / International Parks guide
