Saidpur Railway Workshop Heritage
সৈয়দপুর রেলওয়ে কারখানা ও রেল ঐতিহ্য · Saidpur, Saidpur town, Nilphamari district, Rangpur Division
Introduction
The Syedpur Railway Workshop, established in 1870, is the largest in Bangladesh and was the major workshop of the Assam-Bengal railway; the town itself grew up around it. Old rail colonies, the workshop and colonial-era buildings draw railway-heritage visitors. Saidpur airport — the only airport in Rangpur Division — is in the same town.
Suggested time: half day
How to get there
Saidpur is a major rail junction; reach it by train or bus from Dhaka, Rajshahi or Rangpur (confirm schedules), or fly to Saidpur Airport.

The honest truth about costs
Entry inside the workshop requires railway permission; exploring the town's heritage streets is free.
What you will need to budget for
- Getting there (bus, train, launch or air fare)
- Stay (per night, per room)
