Niladri Lake (Tekerghat)
নীলাদ্রি লেক, টেকেরঘাট · Tahirpur / Dharmapasha (sources conflict), Tekerghat, Sunamganj, Sunamganj district, Sylhet Division
Introduction
A reservoir formed in an abandoned limestone quarry, whose minerals give the deep-blue water its famous hue against the Meghalaya hills — a highlight of Tanguar Haor trips. October to March is the best window, when water is calm and skies clear. Small engine boats from the Tekerghat shore are the way to explore the lake.
Suggested time: Half a day to 1 day
How to get there
Tekerghat is about 35-40 km from Sunamganj town (1-1.5 hours by CNG or motorbike); from Sylhet you travel via Sunamganj. The source itself gives conflicting Sylhet distances (110-120 km vs 85 km), which may reflect different routes. Confirm boat hire locally.
